Hey all. Just wondering if anyone got their medical records to read from their hospital stay or otherwise? If so, how long did it take? Iv asked my doctor for mine but still awaiting a response

I read it in the past. My lawyer tried to get my file for half a year already now, but they refuse to send it.

I need to know if I experienced a catatonic episode in hospital. It’s eating me up

I have never been able to get any. Was told they were federally protected. I could get transcripts but they just say I saw a doctor on a specific day. No notes so I didn’t even keep my medical records from the military. I just gave them to the VA.

No psych notes were in there at all.

I do have access to all my VA records though but I have never been in a VA hospital.

Yes, i called and emailed and called and she as well. I think i will start sending e-mails (=proof) weekly. Or maybe i will play it through my professional connections, though that is a bit foul.

I got my psychiatric records in 2008. They covered the period 1978-2008. The period 1975- 1977 wasn’t available. It needs to be remembered when getting them that when it comes to any personality descriptors it’s very much subjective opinion dressed up as facts. Especially when it comes to interactions with mental health staff as opposed to incidents involving specific symptoms.

Let’s just say that in any disagreements that occur they’ll tend to push the line that it’s all your fault as the patient .
