Med increase time!

Loxapine goes up to 25mg! We’re hoping this will knock the last of my positive symptoms and lingering psychic activity back in to line! I start tonight, I’m excited & hopeful!!

So now it’s:

Fluoxetine 40mg
Olanzapine 15mg
Aripiprazole 2mg
Loxapine 25mg

Thank you!! I was taking 12.5mg and it worked really well, so I’m really hopeful that this will be the last change we need to make for a while :slight_smile:

I don’t know how so many people are on multiple antipsychotics. Two is one thing, but 3? And one at so low a dose it probably does nothing? All my pdocs have been firmly anti-polypharmacy.

If I were to guess its probably for lowering prolactin. Just a guess though.

Fair enough I suppose. The aripiprazole is to control my prolactin levels that spiked from the olanzapine.

As for pro/anti polypharmacy, different meds affect different dopamine pathways, multiple meds can sometimes control symptoms more effectively than a single med at a higher dose
