Does social anxiety means less social?

Sort of…as the article states:

“Social anxiety disorder (SAD), one of the most common mental health diagnoses, involves an avoidance of social situations due to fears of being judged or scrutinized by others”

I have no idea the answer to this question, but I’ll ask anyway: is it possible some percentage of people with social anxiety disorder are panicked about going out, but push through and do it anyway? I do that sometimes, and I know someone else who does it, too. (Though, of course, two anecdotes do not equal data)

Technically, I think no. Because if they are forcing themselves to go out anyway, they aren’t practicing the avoidance part of the disorder. I would say they have social anxiety but not the disorder. It’s kind of splitting hairs though. IDK. That’s my opinion.

IDK, that was just my first thought…maybe you still qualify as having SAD
