Hospital and emergency room patients diagnosed with cannabis use disorder — defined as an inability to stop using cannabis even when the drug is causing harm — died at almost three times the rate of individuals without the disorder over the next five years, according to a study published on Thursday, the largest on the subject.
I agreed with the doc on the other cannabis video you posted in that cannabis acts as a mild dissociative.
I could choose to spend my life not in the ‘what is’ but a dissociative state, not really involved in reailty. It is fun and all but it is not really living to me.
For me, I would equate it to anti-depressants in that one is not really living and feeling everything but rather that everyithing is kept within a narrow confine of emotions, neither really happy or really sad. I’d rather feel it all personally.
The same goes for alcohol, if is an escape from reality.
I understand why I would crave it and why others do but i aim to be conscious in my future.
i wonder if they died at a 3x higher rate because something was wrong with them which is why they were seen in the hospital and emergency room. or if thats compared to all other hospital and ER patients. i always feel like the kinds of studies are twisted and being sneaky
That’s not accurate at all. I am suicidal without ADs. I am normal with them. I enjoy my life quite a bit, but there are highs and lows on the ADs just as there were before I was on them.
idk how before sz i was using weed every hour. i cant imagine being continuously inebriated after it all. kinda scares me like my main goal in mental health is to have a clear and calm mind
A lot of people experience emotional blunting on antidepressants. The possible reason you don’t is down to autism according to copilot AI.
For those that don’t have autism and take ADs then it is quite common to not have the highs and lows (emotional blunting) when taking ADs.
Good sleep, exercise, healthy diet, self-care and a hobby you are passionate about. You should be fine.
I know a lot of people on ADs through AA and they display normal emotional ranges. I am pretty certain they are not in my tribe.
Hmm, one of those studies where the sample size is small, and data is skewed no doubt.
X causes cancer, Y does this, Z does that.
I don’t buy any of it.
A balanced lifestyle overall is the key to longevity.
The researchers took advantage of records in Ontario that capture millions of residents’ encounters with the government health system, which covers 97 percent of the population there.
My bad. But I think life span has many factors to it.
That, and you really don’t want to give up your weed.
Haha yeah true. I am cutting down soon though. It’s a waste of money. And not really helping that much anymore.
