Making Jokes About me

Do you think that now I have been diagnosed with Autism that my parents should stop teasing me about my deficits of communication, and try to be a bit more supportive?

Now I know there is a legitimate reason for why I am like this, I would appreciate it if they could be more supportive rather than poke fun at me all the time

Well I couldn’t wait longer than 16m so I have just had a go about this as I am super pissed off about this for some reason this morning

I don’t really expect to be treated with respect in real life. So I rarely talk about my condition. It just gives some people more ammo.

Even your parents can be insensitive at times. Tactfully and respectfully let them know how you feel. You might have to repeat it several times. If they can’t treat you with respect you’ll just have to emotionally distance yourself from them. We can’t expect our parents to know everything about us. They know a lot when we were children, but as you get older they miss some stuff. They might not understand how you feel. They never do really stop viewing us as their children.

@Joker I hear you. I believe that my brother is Aspergers but we didn’t know what that was 30 years ago. He did get teased for being different. Even my mother called him strange because he would talk about things like the Black Hole. If she encouraged him more and helped him, I believe he could have achieved great things in his life and felt success. :disappointed:

I swear I’m being catfished and gaslighted, not to mention separated from support. I won’t tolerate being bullied, abused or treated like crap. I only prefer to pay my attention to things that support my peace of mind and imporove wellbeing.

Plus stalked and stolen life milestones from me.

I get this too, I just can’t understand how it is that everything people write seems to be so clearly directed to me. I know it comes from emotionally wanting attention, but that can’t be the only reason, it seems like people can’t help put there attention on me.
