Make up question

I really need to start taking better care of my skin. I was wondering if anyone here uses certain facial moisturizer and routine. I’m looking online at some things.

I like Clinique facial moisturizer. I use Tarte foundation and Coastal Classic Creations blush. Both are friendly to the animals and environment and don’t have chemicals in them.

Whatcha looking at in particular, @roxanna?

Working in the makeup and skincare industry, we usually ask the client what their concerns are:

Is it anti-aging? Dryness? Acne?

Then we kinda narrow the product selection down from there.

Do you have any specific concerns in mind?

What kind of skin do you have?

What kind of look are you going for?

I’ve never really wore powder or foundation. I’m an eye liner and eye shadow girl. As far as skin goes I’m fair a few wrinkles. I just want a light weight moisturizer and to clean any pores. Wrinkles around my mouth. I want to ease those.

I like Clinique also.

I always make sure to use waterproof mascara. It must say waterproof. Just a useful tip. Otherwise it’s likely to smudge.

Hiya @roxanna, sorry for getting back to you a little late:

For wrinkles, you can try hyaluronic acid to moisturize and plump lines. Oftentimes, wrinkles can be attributed to dehydrated skin.

If your wrinkles are from aging, I would suggest something with a retinoid or retinol complex. Retinol can be potent, and it’s best to use with a good moisturizer and only at night.

For cleaning pores, salicylic acid will do that while keeping breakouts at bay.

Hope this helps! :dizzy:

My skincare routine on a budget is easy. Wash each night with Noxema and a scrubby. Rinse and follow with Ponds, I use anti aging but there’s different types of Ponds now.

I don’t know anything about makeup and skincare products but diet can sometimes affect your skin and how you look. How is your diet? Do you eat healthy or a lot of junk food for example?

I’m cutting out junk food which is hard to do. I think I could can junk foods. I’m trying to get back down to 174 from 200. At least it’s a start.

Yeah, junk food is sooooooooo tasty, but it is sooooooooo bad for you, lol

I’ve lost a ton of weight over the last several years, I tend to eat very little now and when I do eat it is generally healthy. But I do pig out on junk food occasionally as a treat to myself, I just don’t do it on a regular basis.

I love ice cream too but I switched to frozen yogurt instead. I don’t remember where you are from, but here in Canada we have this. It tastes just like ice cream, and it’s f’n awesome, I eat it a lot, and it is 95% fat free (but you wouldn’t know it). There are a bunch of flavours, but this is my favourite. See if there is something like this where you live…

Looks good. Yeah we have different ice cream here. Breyer’s neopolitan is sugar free I’m not sure about the fat.

It’s the fat you have to worry about if you are worried about your weight, eating a lot of ice cream doesn’t help with weight loss. I worry about the sugar too because I am diabetic, but this stuff doesn’t seem to spike my blood sugar. It’s just a suggestion but I recommend you look for “fat free” frozen yogurt (not ice cream), you might find something you like.
