Mainly for you older folk but for the younger ones too

If your health care is Medicare or Medicaid you might want to take advantage of the preventive tests they offer. I think in your Medicare handbook that they mail out each year, it lists several tests and what age to take them and Medicare will pay for them. A colonoscopy for example. Or eye tests. For those of you in California, Medicaid pays for some dental procedures like root canals and crowns and others. Are you taking full advantage of your health coverage?

All I know is Medicaid pays for my meds and lets me see my doctor and be in Assertive Community Treatment. I don’t know what tests I can get.

There’s a couple of pages in your handbook that will tell you what you’re eligible for. But it’s up to you.

They’ve fully paid for all my surgeries and most medical stuff

my teeth I go to someone out of network so I pay out of pocket but I tried places that take Medicaid and Medicare and they just don’t do as good of a job the denture plate is just way to big and don’t fit right and the teeth are comically big and made me feel like a clown and they don’t seem to care they just insisted i get the most expensive plate because insurance paid for it and I really didn’t like them

I hate to say this, but I find this to be true too.

This is news to me. It might be different in Oklahoma. If they have tests for arthritis I might get one, if one is available.

Or if someone has some nagging health issue that you have been living with for awhile, if Medicare covers it, you may as well go be seen by a doctor.

If you think you have arthritis, a regular PCP can look at it. They might be able to refer you to a specialist who takes Medicare.

I don’t qualify for Medicaid unfortunately

I’m on Medicare

Michigan medicaid just started covering root canals and crowns. I haven’t been to the dentist yet. Was waiting for me to move to new place first.

I have Medicare and Tricare so I never owe anything but I usually go through the VA. It’s free but with both my insurances I never have to pay anything anyway. My wife doesn’t have Medicare. Just our Tricare. She always has copays.

I am monitoring nodules in my lungs. You should have your lungs X-rayed at 50 also.

My uncle passed two years ago. He was 76. He was very wealthy. Didn’t even have a doctor. Never got a colonoscopy. By the time he figured out he had cancer it was too late. If he would have been going to the doctor and had gotten colonoscopies he would probably still be alive.

Do you know where you’re moving? Do you have a house or apartment picked out?

I have both and i dont pay for anything besides med copays, but theyre like $4. Im 30 so probably should check into preventative stuff. I i see the drs quite a lot tho. And the dentist i saw accepted medicaid, they were wonderful.
