I would think that higher intelligent people would be more at risk, as more problems.

I would have thought the same as you @anon39015889 , but I recall reading somewhere of a link between severe depression and low intelligence.

Because mo money means more spending in actuality.

This doesn’t say a lot for my intelligence then. I was 47 when I had my first and only suicide attempt.

18 First suicide attempt. 27 last attempt . I think mine was to do with poor emotional control rather than lack of intelligence . My emotional control is nowhere near perfect , but better than it was 35 years ago.

I’m pretty sure you’re right Wallafish. I have read that people who suffer from schizophrenia and have a higher than average IQ are more prone to suicide. However, Firemonkey’s linked article surely could have some validity for later in life.
