I tried to set up a miracast to my old tv and it worked for awhile but then the picture orientated horizontally while i watched it. To set up the miracast was also a pain in the butt and redoing it was a nightmare to connect firstly by the mobile and then the laptop each time i reset it.
Well, anyway having recently rearranged the room to set up the midi and laptop it was easy to just watch it straight on the laptop. Previously, I was encumbered by the cable with the external hdd so preferred to use the tv than rest it on my lap.
It turns out with the active speakers it looked great on the laptop, so i have invested in a better gaming/executive chair which arrives on wednesday and it will be all the sweeter to watch boxsets on it.
I just binge watched ‘Hijack’ over from yesterday and enjoyed it. It was on apple tv but i dl them and was looking for recommendations from all the streaming servces (apple, netflix, disney etc, amazon) that were any good.
The first season of 24 was fun if you like Kiefer Sutherland. That said while the second season was okay I wouldn’t watch beyond season 2 because the story becomes less believable and more repetitive over time.
I quite like watching 90s/00s stuff. They are cheesy and dated but its part of the charm. Also feels like more work went into the writing.
I hope your chair suits you. I had to buy a proper chair a couple of years ago because my super basic one wasnt supportive enough. I went for an ergonomic chair by Haworth (got one second hand for cheap).
As for the connection issues - I try not to use wireless connections whereever possible. Theres something really simple about just plugging something in and it working.
I was sitting there watching hijack and thought this ergonomic one would fit the bill. My current chair is only £30 and is extremely baisc and thought that if i am going to watch these boxsets and make music then invest a better one without breaking the bank.
I am not going to spend a fortune on one and saw them all at over £200! This new one should be alright. I don’t have to worry about weight issues or anything.
That was the situation I was in. Like extremely simple armless chair that I was spending 90% of my waking hours in. Was not doing me any favours…
I looked at all kinds of chairs and did a lot of reading into what people said to look out for. I sort of looked it the same way I look at my bed/mattress - its okay to spend more because it affects your back (have back issues in my family).
I would be slightly skeptical about buying stuff off ebay as it may not be high quality. That said if your budget is very limited maybe it is a suitable fit. Should still an upgrade to a basic chair. I hope you find it comfortable
