I know people who didn’t lock there doors. Some of them would leave there keys in there vehicles. Not for the last few day. I live in a very rural area. We have crime. But we have never have something like what happen the other day.
Three elderly people were shot in the head, at a house not too far from here. The 73 year old woman and the 83 year old man has died. The other victim a 72 year old woman lived.
The rumors I have pick up is that they were in the witness protection program. From Chicago and it was a mob hit.
The other story I heard was that they pick up there prescriptions that day and the prescriptions were not found.
I live alone. The older I get the more vulnerable I become. The cops are at least a half hour away. I have no nearby neighbors.
I’m not too worried I have two dogs that will tell me if someone is coming. One of them is 150 lbs. But my doors and windows are lock. The phone is near and I’m armed.
How are the rest of you spending your night.
I also live too far from emergency services.
Just yesterday someone in my neighborhood was having heart problems and had to have Life-Flight come pick them up, the hospital is probably 45 minutes away. Not that many miles, but you have to cross over some mountainous terrain and it takes awhile.
Also, if you need the cops it takes them about 30 minutes, easy.
I don’t worry so much about break ins, but I understand why you’re shake up, that’s a horrible story, regardless of the reason behind it.

My closest neighbors are about 6 feet away. We pack houses close together in California! Kinda like sardines.
Since you live so far out in the boonies, it’s good that you’re staying safe by locking the doors and windows and arming yourself. That’s really sad about the three elderly folks. Hopefully, the authorities find whoever murdered them so that other folks in the area don’t have to worry.
how terrible for you @Ridgerunner I think your caution is probably right on in this case…you don’t sound paranoid at all !! Please don’t fear too much…those guys who shot the old people must have been on the run by now?
I live in the country too. They say that there is more crime per capita in the country than in the cities. A person definitely doesn’t want to come walking up on somebody’s back door around here. Everyone has guns.
My place is very safe and I sleep without worrying I might get shot or rob

What really happened was a multiple murder suicide just so you know. That often goes unreported in states where firearms are manufactured, especially when it is elderly folk. Oh and murder suicide is way more likely when you keep your “guns” or firearms handy for prolonged periods of time while isolating and seeing a former flame with another. Surprise Ridgerunner. LOL a mob hit from Chicago? that’s some AM radio Rush Limbaugh Bill O’Reilly Sandy Hook denial racist conspiracy ■■■■■■■■. it would have to be another 70something year old to even remember those victims of firearm homicide.
Personally I believe someone was after their prescriptions They are looking for two white males who were in a blue sedan.
The city cops the county sheriff’s the state troopers and the FBI are investigating. But they are not saying much about it.
A few county’s over two men has escape jail. But they don’t think it was them.

Yeah no doubt some prisoners are aware of how psychological operations work. They may have stayed their briefly. The older elderly lady shot them both dead because the old man went for a younger elderly lady again. The feds are trying to research what prescriptions they were on, where they received them, if they were known for selling them on the streets, and of course how it occurred. The local racist white supremacist police officer second in command is trying to cover it up because according to him it makes the “Aryan race” look bad. The FBI agents are trying to get to the bottom of a psychotropic opiate deal they were aware of through stocks and bond received by their own relative regarding some reports that came out on 60 minutes two weeks ago. They were coaxed into killing each other over polygamy so they would not report the person who overtooked the old dude’s business. The higher ups at the police department there are paid off and in fear for their lives as it has to do with a few people in Congress, specifically a Congress woman who made propaganda campaign money through lobbyists for influencing get this… A planned parenthood and food and drug administration loophole law. While campaigning for firearms only for “white” United States citizens off the camera. That and a few of her male counterparts which are not as brash publicly but would let her take the fall as a scapegoat before them and she is scared because the Lehman brothers want her dead. She also suggested the “urban community” throw their prescription drugs into the sewer system as a form of “protest” knowing it would poison the water and cause tensions to rise while she gained more voted because jaded voters would not vote again. She was ousted on 60 Minutes by a fink who wants to slang opiates in Russia to raise his own profit margin. Oh and the deal was spoken about in Chicago.
This was probably due to their prescriptions… try not to listen to the grapevine though. It will only make you more paranoid about an already horrible event.

Nope. I really don’t. I’m just not trapped in some fantasy world. I am not trapped in my own little box of commodities. People with firearms are more likely to kill a person.
People on drugs are not thinking clearly.
I’m not too stress out about it. Just not sleeping with my front door open. Getting to cold for that anyway. Don’t expect anything. Just like to be prepare.
Might as well stock up on canned foods and flashlights in a bunker that does not open from the outside. Just don’t stockpile an arsenal of weaponry and/or explosives. Hah the end is not near. People selling people ■■■■ for their own personal agenda have been saying that for thousands of years, the world does not end with one person, unless there is no opposite gender, then mankind is ■■■■■■, but the world would remain.

You still got your k9? , I live in a VERY rough area in the north west of England , people think gun crime isn’t prevalent in the uk , but here , people like to shoot families with shotguns , children wield them in the streets , I believe a dog can offer the safety and comfort one needs to get through the nights sometimes , I wish u the up most protection and safety , may justice come to those who deserve it , and my heart goes out to the families affected , be safe
