Living with sz & being a Carer

Its hard being mentally challenged but its its even harder being a carer at the same time, having people rely on me,

Usually we need all the support we can get but sometimes we need to give support to someone too,

My mum is registered deaf/blind so taking her out and about is a bit of a struggle.

Caring for my mum means i have to be well & my Sis didn’t think i could do it but i am, luckily its under 15hrs a week but still hard work, usually taking her out twice a week.

does anybody else care for a loved one?

That’s really good that you are able to help care for your mom. It gives her some freedom to be able to go out. I’m sure she appreciates it very much.

My Mom has dementia, is old and frail and is bound to a wheelchair.
I help take care of her.
It’s a lot of work.

My grandma has Alzheimer’s and I help my mom take care of her. She’s in a wheel chair, can’t talk much, can’t feed herself, or bathe herself.

That’s why I guess it’s so important I get better so I can go back to helping the people I care about.
