It’s all code but had our first day of a two day cricket match today. Long day in the field on synthetic wicket with other side hitting out in one of those interesting days when the ball is travelling over your head all day. We toiled hard but it was just one of those days.
Anyways. Got a bowl. 2 overs for 19. Got taken downtown for a six with a rubbish ball. I can bowl allright and I will improve but still fun. Ended up having the other side declare on 200 plus. Had four overs to ride out and did it well. I’m not out 1 for next week and I hope to get a big one. Bowling wasn’t too much of problem late in the day!
I’m not familiar with that game but it sounds like you’re off to a good start. I love that you enjoy it so much, even when things don’t go perfectly for you. That’s great sportsmanship!
They play all right @anon94176359. Basically concrete with a synthetic grass. This one was pretty old so not so thick and a bit worn but their bowling wasn’t the greatest!

Thanks @Pat6398. Yeah I still open the batting in the bottom grade and do a job. I’m starting to bowl a bit more just for something extra to do. It can be a long day in the field if your not bowling. Played a lot of indoor cricket too and it’s not a bad game but outdoor is a lot more challenging.
Thanks @FatMama . It’s an interesting game with some similar skills to baseball. It lasts a lot longer though. An international test match goes for 5 days! I still love playing as I get to test myself against other players. Not bad for an old sz man to compete against the so called normies!
