Been a week on the 2mg risperidone and 1mg abilify and dont notice any difference in terms of libido, how long does it take for things to normalize, or does the risperidone need to be lowered more first(which is going to happen next month)
1mg of Abilify doesn’t seem much at all to me.
The dose range for Sz is 10mg too 30mg.
I know they need to start off slow, but this seems to be a bit too cautious.

How long have you been on it?
one week was on 5mg for a month
and 3mg risperidone they just lowered last week to 2mg
It will probably take 4 - 6 weeks to take full effect. I have been told that once a drug is in your system, increments work a bit quicker.
Unfortunately it’s a waiting game. Be prepared though if you have to switch again as doing this can be a pain in the ass
Next month lower to 1mg risperidone and a month after that if all works I drop the risperidone. Pdoc is being very cautious with the decreases and doing it slowly
Both are anti psychotics and they reduce libido. So with anti depressants, sedatives like benzodiazepines.
If you want to raise libido then try these
Reduce as much anti psychotics, anti depressants, sedatives usage.
Bring your vitamin D, B12 and thyroid hormone level in optimal range.
DMG/TMG, Ashwagandha, Zinc supplements help in increasing libido.

I have my risperidal very low and Abilify 12. Slowly made that change and it was quite quick to kick in maybe a few weeks
Risperidone at any dosage level will destroy the libido.
