Lazy days and an update on my studies! šŸ˜

When I studied I used as many mediums as possible

Audiobooks, recorded lectures, online videos, films, documentaries, books and general articles

Tried to constantly change the inputs I was using

It did seem to work but if I go back to it next year will need to find the best way as wonā€™t have the time or freedom to do all that

Plus I pretty much did the bare minimum of the recommended study

The rest of the time I was digging around in the library to try to figure out free will etc

Canā€™t remember a lot of it but it swung from German philosophy to the sacred books of the east

:person_shrugging:

But STEM is different to a liberal arts degree so might be a whole other way to study

Remembering how badly I did at school and how well I was able to independently learn at university proved to me that i had the skills

I rejected high school and was truanting for the majority of it to take drugs and generally be an ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–

Itā€™s not for anybody

Also think the pressure they put on kids is not constructive

Not every child can make use of school and these days the routes to reenter education are numerous

My way back in was an Access to HE course

Thatā€™s something I stopped doing, and that actually works - for when you study again, even in STEM. The switching between different methods of study. You feel engaged and you think about the stuff subconsciously like when you go for a walk and stuff. :fire:

Caffeine helps as well. Music is hit/miss because it can distract you by hijackingā€™s your interest and then your time lol :joy:

I apologize for speaking up.

It is just so expensive to get a degree these days.

No need to apologise, Iā€™m in Britain, the loans get written off if you donā€™t earn enough to pay it back within 30 years. So itā€™s better than rotting away in bed

What are your sleeping habits like?

When I was in school, one of the few things I thought I did well was get my studying/homework done earlier in the day. As opposed to staying up late at night trying to remember stuff when youā€™re mentally tired.

Mixed. I study when my sleep feels like itā€™s given me focus, so sometimes itā€™s end of the day, other times itā€™s beginning of the morning

When I select my modules tomorrow over the phone I think it will give me a burst of motivation. Iā€™ll do two each year which works outs to be 5 years of study.

Just talking about it neutrally has helped me a little tbh. Feel less trapped. Tonight will be a fruitful session I think

Edit. Iā€™m thinking an exercise bike might help me conjure the high I need to feel motivated

I think a resource may be a councilor at the school. You did mention that you donā€™t 100% think that it is schiz.

Nah it is sz, but I donā€™t want to think of it as sz. Because then Iā€™ll make excuses for myself all the time

Either way, they may be helpful. I understand making excuses all the time thoughā€¦ Hard to realize that is what is happening though.
