She simply won’t stop trying to chew on this little fake birch tree I have sitting on the coffee table. It’s got lights on it. She’s going to chew through wires and make it so it doesn’t work. omg, she just tried again. She’s insane.
My cat gets up on our wooden China hutch every few minutes. We always have to yell at him to get down. He jumps down and then a short time afterwards he’s back to his old tricks lol.
He also bites my legs. He usually does it when he wants treats. He’s been a biter since he was a kitty. We yell “no biting”, but that just pisses him off. Then he does it again.
Why are they so naughty?
Dont hit your cat. They don’t learn like dogs. Get a spray bottle instead and squirt her when she does naughty things.
My little princess keeps playing with the drape chords.
I just usually discipline her by saying a firm “no” but I don’t know if she truly understands.
What she keeps doing is cute but at the same time frustrating
Don Juan Knocks things down often. Good sign he wants food
My cat also attempted to jump on top of this large fake mini tree plant in the corner of our dining room.
She knocked it down once.
She’s 11 months and now is a teenager.
This is at the age where cats cause mischief the most!
Don Juan still is very mischievous he’ll be 5 soon
My cat definitely understands no. With this tree I will be telling her no very firmly and she will look me dead in the eye and bite the tree. She’s acting like a spaz.
You can buy little grass bushes for your cat to chew on. Cats who have been outside like to chew on grass. They like it.
@anon4362788 is right. Don’t hit. Spray your cats face with water every time she starts to do that.
I just ordered some grass for my cat to chew on
Hopefully this will keep her away from our plants.
I am reading that spraying your cat with water will frighten your cat.
They may become frightened of you.
A firm “no” is a much better way to discipline your cat.
We usually just distract them. They respond to their names, so if they are doing something weird or bad, I’ll call their name and have them come to me.
I train my dogs only with positive reinforcement.
I also don’t use treats. Just attention / affection.
I dont even yell - a calm no is all that is needed.
When they bark I pick them up and give them attention and calm them down and say stop.
We have a kitten. It is the first time in my life that I ever had a cat. My kitten seems very smart though. She swats me in the mouth when I try to kiss her on the lips. I think that she is smart though for trying to establish boundaries. We all try to kiss her and she really doesn’t want us to.
