Kinda feel like running away. I can’t live in this house

Keep hearing pops, bangs and explosions. Constantly terrified that my heating system is about to explode.

Smell burning plastic electrical fires alongside the bangs.

I can’t live here anymore.

Am locked in contract on this place for another year but tbh I doubt I will last that long anyway.

Just can’t take anymore

Thing is I know these bangs will follow me anywhere I go. I can’t take anymore

Can you get a voice(noise) activated recording device, or use your PC or phone to record these noises?

If they’re real, maybe your landlord should know about them.

It’s normal to hear noises when you live in a place. You just have to chill and carry on.

I also hear things in my current apartment: sometimes it’s the faucet dripping, the radiator, the boiler, some noise from neighbors,…

The list is pretty endless.

Hey Jimbob,

That’s very unfortunate about Exploding Head Syndrome. I used to live in an apartment in a very VERY old building and I had those hallucinations ALL THE TIME. At one point I tried to flee and ended up in the middle of a river far out in the east.

Luckily my Social Worker found me a new place to stay within a well-known resource. It’s like night and day for the noise. The building is recent and the walls insulated, no voices outside either!

I would check with your care team, even if you have to be hospitalized while they figure things out. You should not be alone in wanting to find a new place…

G’luck!

Would you feel more comfortable living with someone you like if you live alone ?

Can you rent a room out to someone you trust and like?

Until you can move elsewhere.
