How’d that happen?

What happen???

Why did you go to jail and become homeless?

I committed a crime spent ten days in jail and will be on probation after my sentencing. My mom is evicted because of the crime. They disowned me. Buddha says have no attachments. I’m free of attachments for the most part now. It’s a good thing to lose attachments.

To be honest I liked jail better than the outs and mental hospitals. People told me prison is even better. The food was good as hell for the most part. That’s not to say I’m going to commit a crime.

Hey that’s an illusion.

It’s called institutionalization.

Jail is no way in hell better than LIFE. You are NOT an animal.

Your mother is not an attachment. She is your family. I suggest somehow re uniting.

Your not free… you have to realize that you actually need help.

I suggest going to public health agency and get as much info you can, on housing, jobs, mental health.

Homelessness is NO JOKE.

You can die.

I’m scared now.:pensive:

You have a phone right?

If you have that your okay.
Use it and find resources.

Like food stamps, shelter.

Look for Salvation Army. Or a friend or someone you can rely on.

Salvation Army is a church organization that helps people with need. They can give you shelter and shower

A phone saved my life.

I’m probably gonna try pan handling.

You have to work to get money.

Collect all your vital documents from your house. You will need it to live.

I’m scared now. :pensive:

Chaos is fun and adventurous.

Hey I don’t know if your serious or not…

But keep the things I’ve mentioned in mind…

I’m recovering from homelessness and mental illness.

And it’s really tough

Hope you’re doing well and can find a place to live ASAP

I just got out of jail as well. I’m not sure if this is a national thing but look into SRO housing. It stands for single room occupancy. There are lists of refurbished hotels that accept people for months and they’re generally more affordable than apartments. This is in California. I hope you find shelter soon.

I’ll probably just sleep in my car and get a hotel once a week.

But I think probation is gonna make me find a place.

The biggest threat to public safety is not releasing prisoners early. It’s actually putting them in the system in the first place. It demistifies prison and makes criminals harder and smarter. That’s why the recidivism rate is so high because once somebody is in the system they’re not scared to go to prison.

Then again my experience could’ve been staged. I know the court was kangaroo.

The food sucked when I went to jail for a week or so a few years ago for cracking a window with a chair trying to escape in a hospital. I will admit that we still looked forward to it as a highlight of the day because there was little else to do besides watch communal television. I remember getting a hard boiled egg with your food on a specific day was really a highlight . Hospital food was much better in my case.
