Hello everyone just wanted to let you guys know. That I was commited to hospital. We’ll my brother said k should go after I asked him if he was telepathic. I spent 12 days in the hospital. I finally been diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder I’m on 60mg of zrisperdone .and 20 mg of prozac. Couple other meds one.for.the restless legs and Ativan for anxiety. Just wondering how long does it take for zrisperdone to be fully effective
Welcome back I have no clue but I wanted to welcome you back… I hope everything goes well and you don’t gotta go back
Thanks for the support man
I’d say give it about six weeks to really start working. Always take it as directed. Try to be consistent with the dosing.
Good luck!
Is ir true that you need to eat 500 calories before you take
Welcome back, I heard that you have to eat with geodon around 500 cal or so. Watch out for movement issues with this med.
Most antipsychotics and antidepressants take about a month or so to kick in, but you could notice an effect earlier, everyone is unique.
Anxiolytics like Ativan will work immediately, within a n hour of taking it.
Welcome back!!! It takes 1 to 2 months to get the full effect
I think taking it with food is very important, so make sure you get that habit going.
From Google :
Ziprasidone is usually taken 2 times per day with food (at least 500 calories)
Yes you need to take 500 calories. Otherwise it just makes you dizzy for an hour and then doesn’t work.
Welcome back!!!
I’m on Lurasidone twice a day. I have to take it with 350 calories. Some meds are like that.
Usually with breakfast I have cereal that is only about 200 calories and i have been fine.
Welcome back.
Glad to hear you received help.
Thanks for the reply .When you say take with food does that mean eat food before taking the pill or can I take the pill first then eat food. It might sound like a stupid question but I just want to know best way to make it work.
It took a little over a month for me to start feeling the full effects of my antipsychotic. Things get better with treatment over time in my experience.
If you are starting anti psychotic medicine for the first time the first two weeks you might feel very much like jumping out of your skin. It passes after a short while. When I see my pdoc I’m asking her to give me a tardive d test. That’s when you do things with your arms and walk and stick out your tongue. I’ll try not to think sexy thoughts when I stick out my tongue, lol.
After six weeks did voices.go away
It depends on the med and you. Everyone is different. Some people have to try different meds before they find one that’s best suited for them.
The important thing is to always take the med as directed. If problems occur, such as unwanted side-effects, etc., the doctor may adjust the dosage or prescribe a different med.
The main thing is to always follow your treatment plan and never give up.
Eventually you will find the treatment best for you. But in the meantime, you can keep your symptoms to a minimum by just taking whatever meds they are giving you.
You need to eat first, then take the pill within an hour of finishing.
Thanks man! Yeah now that I know what I have feel less stressed.
