That’s a saying I heard in NA group meetings. Is it really possible to actually live in the present without worrying about tomorrow or troubles in general?
I can’t seem to.

I can’t seem to.
I have rare fleeting moments where I’m living in the present and “in the moment”
Today was one of those moments. It was good
I can’t do it either
My gma says I worry about things to worry about lol.
I found mindfulness exercises helpful to keep me in the present.
No. But when I am consumed future anxiety. It’s good to take a break and just get through the minute, hour, day. I guess that is why one day at a time helps.
I feel you. It’s very difficult. I fail at this too. I worry far too much!
In my DBT group we learned that most people have to work at being present.
For example, you practice being mindful for 30 seconds at a time, then maybe a minute or two.
You get better at it and you can learn how to have mindful moments. The more you practice, the more moments you have.
Most people are not present most of the time. We’re all in our heads.
Yup. It has kept me going for thirty-plus years now. It gets easier with practice.
Worrying takes away today’s strength for tomorrow’s problems. I try not to worry about things I can’t control. Flow with life, don’t try to control it.
