I have a friend who teaches guitar, and he ended up buying one of his students a cheap guitar because their guitar was clearly some bargain bin DIY project someone had made, and not a good enough instrument to perform on.
Instruments are expensive, but as long as you keep playing they are a good investment IMO.
Theoretically, I could probably return the old guitar, but I got it in a package that includes an amp. I plan on using the same amp since it seems to work fine. Plus it would be a pain repackaging the whole setup. It just seems simpler to keep it. It was fairly cheap anyway, and I don’t mind having a spare.
