Jury Duty Summons

Have any of you ever got a summons? Did you need a doctor’s excuse to be excused? I had to print out a form for my doctor to fill out.

I think my therapist can fill it out.

yeah i’ve been selected a couple times. once here in county and once for federal court. in county i just filled out their questionaire which included if you had any mental impairments. and i never heard back. but for federal court i had to get a letter from my doctor. which they had a letter on file for when this happens and the doctor just signed it.

On mine there was a section for my doctor to fill and sign, I tear it out put in the provided envelope. I was to call a number to inform of absence by disability and then mail the form. I didn’t hear back from the court because that’s how it’s supposed to go. My doctor was nice enough to answer this question like this:

Q When will your patient be able to serve jury duty?
A Never

I was worried a therapist couldn’t fill out the form because it said physician. I called and they said a therapist is fine.

I was working at Social Services and got selected to sit on a Jury. There were two defendants. One was a DUI and the other was for him trying to interfere with them arresting her for the DUI. We found her guilty and him not guilty. It took 2 days. I didn’t mind being on the Jury. If I were called to Jury duty now would I have to say I was unable to do it because I’m sick or could I do it if I wanted to?

If you feel that you can, then you probably could. I just get too anxious around new people and especially a court setting would set me off into a panic attack.

I’d also have problems remembering what was said.

On top of this I need to be home for my husband. I really can’t leave him alone long. He has burned himself a lot trying to cook and do dishes.

I got a questionnaire or letter from my psychiatrist, don’t remember which. I was worried that a number of things could happen.

I got called up when I was living in the states. I missed an election too and the bastardos hit me up with a fine because I didn’t vote…I got it all sorted eventually but a note from the doc is good. Even if I was called in and made it I doubt I’d make a jury. I’m mentally ill.

I served on a jury back in the 1990’s. The guy was charged with statutory rape of a person under the age of 14. I kept an open mind about it, but when I heard the testimony of the little brother, I decided he was guilty. The jury found him guilty and gave him 20 years on count one, and 25 years on count two.

My therapist called and said she was happyto write me out. I’m thankful for her.

I rarely get picked. I am too inquisitive. If you ask a lot of questions when they ask you questions and are kind of argumentative, you don’t get picked. They want wishy washy people that can be manipulated. I am not wishy washy.

I got called to do jury duty about 4 or 5 times in tne past. I finally filled out a form that excuses me from jury duty for life. I never had the desire to serve on a jury.

Called once in SD. My GP just wrote a note that said has sz with homicidal tendencies, use at your own risk. I’ve never been called again even after moving states.

Plus with John as a corrections officer Sgt I can’t be called and neither can he or the kids when.they are older. Works out.

My mom gets out so does youngest sister in.SD saying John works in.corrections.
