Ive been asked to apply for 5 jobs a week

Who asked you to apply for jobs?

The job centre advisor probably.

On topic: they can’t take away or penalise you if there aren’t jobs - the economy for jobs in England atm is known to be bad

My employment specialist my GP referred me to.

It’s not the job centre, my GP referred me to someone who helps me look.

Sorry, but sod that. Take it your on Universal Credit? Get on the sick with your Dx and get a voluntary job under the “therapeutic earnings” rule.

My experience is the buggers love to sanction you.

Sorry - i maybe barking up the wrong tree, i will go away lol.

I forgot, are you on disability now @anon25873142?
If not, I would seriously consider going on disability and if you can manage also volunteer somewhere

I volunteered many many years ago, but I’ve been asked to look for paid employment recently.

I had no idea I could do this. Yes I am on uc and standard rate pip

I’m on PIP which is £409 for disability. and uc is for everyone I get £805 which sickness added to it. If I work I can still claim pip but lose the uc.

I mean if I was looking for full-time work, there are loads of jobs out there that I can apply to. But I can only manage part-time. When I first started talking to her, she did say to me I need to change my thinking and apply full-time, but it just doesn’t work for me I get sick. I don’t think she appreciates how sick I get. If I could change my thinking I would, but I can’t.

Doesn’t seem like she knows what what’s dealing with at all. Is this mandatory?

I had similar a few years ago, it proved useless but I said it was useless so my care co-ordinator took me off of it

No this is not mandatory, I can quit at any point. But I feel the pressure, she also needs to tick boxes right? So she pushes me, and it doesn’t feel all that comfortable. I also feel extremely guilty not having a job.

I think volunteering could be a great outcome, since you’ve struggled with working for so long.
