There was this time when I was in the army, and this sergeant was giving us a class and spouting the most errant nonsense. He said American C rations had like 20,000 calories a box, and Russian C rations had like 400 - 500. He put forth a lot of other nonsense. But he acted like he was sure of himself, and some of the guys said he sounded like he knew what he was doing. This whole business of intellectuals getting women because of their learning does not work where I am in society. Here women are in love with the way the guy presents himself, like he is so certain what he says is true, and he is fearless in saying it. That’s what the women where I live do.
