My mom died almost 30 years ago. You’ll never forget her and it’ll be tough for a few months but hang in there.

I’m sorry for your loss, @Wave. I hope you can work through this.

I never felt a thing after my own mother died. And it’s been three years now.

Hey Wave. I’m sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me or @me anytime I’m not online 100% of the time but I’ll do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. I think you should avoid being alone for awhile, maybe there is a relative or friend you can call for support? If not, then I’ll try to be around.:slightly_smiling_face:

I mean it too, friend! Also maybe you could try to get a cat or a dog? Animal companions make a huge difference when it comes to feeling lonely.

My father and brother want me to get a dog.
I don’t think I’m quite ready just yet to adopt again but maybe soon.
I’ll see how things go.

A dog will never replace your mother but… that hole in your heart… maybe a dog can help mend it or bring a new piece to your heart. There is no doubt you will always love your mother as she was there for you. Dogs have this amazing hard to describe ability. Some would call it loyalty, I guess it is though it can be called unconditional love as well. You can have the best day in the world, and your dog will be happy to celebrate it with you. You can have the worst day of your life and your dog will look up at you, see you in the eye and comfort you. They just know when someone needs comfort. I’m not exactly impartial when I say this but I recommend a pug.:slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve always owned a dog.
One of my dogs was a pug, man how I loved that dog.

My current dog. (The little fella in my avatar pic.) Is my first pug. Wow, he is amazing.

Here he is!

I read wikipedia’s page on pugs and it mentions that sometimes they were called shadows for their affection and natural instinct to be around a person, like having an extra shadow. He is a little older now and there was a siren outside so he looked a little like, “WTF?!” In the pic. Hah.

My reasoning for wizard… 1. I would not have to shave (sure elves don’t have facial hair so there is that) and more importantly 2. I would only have to shower if I turned into ilovethaifood the white. I’d likely prefer to be ilovethaifood the grey just so I wouldn’t have to shower (as often). Lol whoops wrong thread.

I can’t imagine the pain you are going through. I have so much love for my parents and rely on them. I want them to be around forever. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Be strong @Wave. It really is hard but you have to move forward. Time really does help and it’s perfectly ok to take your time dealing with it all. It is such a shock even if you are prepared. Look after yourself.
