It just makes me so angry

That my family doesn’t understand my weight gain is from the meds. They think I’m just blaming it on the meds.

Before I lost weight, I had people making comments about how much I must be eating everyday all day. It really sucked.

Weight gain from meds is definitely a real thing. All you have to do is ask around this forum and you will find this to be true.

I have the same problem. Idk what to do.

Sorry to hear that @Aziz

My family used to hide good and fattening food from me or never bring it home. I got mad and yelled at them.

They let my brothers eat whatever they want as theyre not fat like me.

People say all kinds of ignorant things, even educated people that should know better. I gave up caring about what people say and don’t get upset over it anymore.

When I was fat I was ashamed. I hardly ever left the house. I tried dieting and exercising and it didn’t make one iota of difference so I gave up. But it was definitely the meds (In my case olanzapine) because when I lowered my dose I automatically started losing weight and when I switched to a different med I lost all the weight I gained except for about 5 lbs. I haven’t changed my diet or done any extra exercise, quitting olanzapine caused my old metabolism to come roaring back and the weight just melted away on its own. I’ve gone from 240lbs down to 171lbs (I weighed myself today)
