Is this possible?

Could anyone have too much insight into their illness, that treatment is delayed because psychiatrist didn’t believe you could be psychotic because of your insight?

I was refused admission to hospital when I was completely psychotic and suicidal because I was able to have a normal conversation with the doctor at the ER.

Hi @Sedated and welcome to the forum.

Is that your real name? We suggest changing it to something anonymous to protect your identity.

That’s terrible…

I’m so sorry that happened to you, but I’m not surprised, ER docs seem to be extremely dismissive. What do you do next if it’s ok for me to ask?

Ill have to see if I can figure out how to do that…

@Artandfood @Sedated I was told that if I was well enough to seek help, I was well enough not to need help. Messed up, huh?

I upped my seroquel dose by myself from 200mg to 600mg which stabilised me. Then I saw my regular psychiatrist and told them I wanted to go back on abilify. I’ve been on Abilify ever since, and stable.

I’ve never forgotten nor forgiven them.

You come up with a name and one of us mods can change it. Just tag one of us

@anon4362788 @Ninjastar @Moonbeam @rogueone

Not sure how to tag

To tag someone put the “@” symbol before their name.
