Is this normal?

My therapist sees me for 25 minutes every week.
This seems way too short.
Is this normal or typical for others?

I’m going to find some other therapist.
She is not familiar with severe mi.

That does seem short.

Mine used used to see me for an hour before we realized insurance was only paying for 45 minutes.

So then it was 45 minutes from then on.

It could be a matter of insurance is what I’m saying.

Yeah now that you mentioned it, I think she did say something about insurance.

Yeah,

It sucks how insurance dictates our level of care.

That sounds like drive-through therapy. I’m glad you’re looking for a new one!
Hope you find one who understands and will take their time. One hour per session is what I’ve always had. Oh, I do think my last one was 45 minutes, actually. But insurance paid for all.

I want to see my last therapist but she doesn’t accept my insurance.

Will she do a sliding scale to accommodate your income?

I don’t know but I may go call her and ask.

My father wants me to find someone new that accepts my insurance.

I have to pay out of pocket for my therapy. Also my pdoc only sees me for 20 minutes.

I’m not talking about seeing my psychiatrist.
My therapist sees me for a short period of time @Loke.

Mine is 30-45 minutes it seems. Some days it feels long and some it feels too short.

10 or 15 minute sessions is about average for psychiatrists but 25 minute sessions for a therapist is not normal.
