When I hear social media, I think profiles. Friends lists. Status updates.
This website doesnā€™t have much of that

What i consider social media - is the likes of facebook and twitter obviously. I purely see this as a support forum for the mentally ill - and do my best to treat it as such. I dont want any of that ā€œfacebookā€ crap here - cos it will make me paranoid and leave.

Yeah when I think of social media I think the harvesting of data. Donā€™t think that applies here

Itā€™s a social forum. Even though we donā€™t meet or know each other. We talk we message.

Yes, I do consider this forum to be a social media website.

Facebook and Twitter and the others are played out in public. Forums are largely insular by design, set apart from the rest of social media. (I think there is a place for both but, no, I donā€™t consider forums ā€˜social media.ā€™)

Forums are about community, typically a place to dive a little deeper, have a little more privacy.

Is it because people post photos sometimes? Other than that I donā€™t see it as social media.

I see it as social media sure. Itā€™s both social and itā€™s online media.

Depends on how you use it. I think it is on many levels. Itā€™s a little different but it does provide a social aspect for sure. Good question @anon94176359
