I live with family only help pay for utilities and I buy most of my own food. If they charged me rent like that I would look into moving out. I would think it would be a good idea. I thought your dad was a difficult person to live with anyways. You would most likely qualify for help paying utilities if you live on your own. Dont know if you get any food stamps. You could most likely qualify for food pantries if you have any around you.

I live with my Dad and although I don’t pay rent, I do contribute financially.
I’ll pay for groceries and other expenses.

I think paying $400 a month for living expenses is a good deal. I wouldn’t question it. You might come off as ungrateful. I mean that leaves you over $500 to live off of, that’s pretty good.
