Is there a happily self conscious?

It depends who the critic is. Some people can hurt you more than others.

Right. I think it’s called constructive criticism when it’s well intended.

My inner critic is the worst.

I keep calling myself a thief because I eat. Not murderer because I believe in rebirth, but thief of a way.

According to ‘The Happiness Trap’ book a bit of unhappiness is normal and healthy. It’s your brain’s way of staying vigilant and alert to potential threats and danger.

There is suppose to be an ego ideal. But that seems to escape me most of the time. I think that an ego ideal would give us a happily self conscious.
