Is naltrexone a dopamine antagonist?

The answer is it’s more an opioid receptor antagonist

Does naltrexone affect dopamine?

Naltrexone is not a narcotic, but it does block serotonin and dopamine , the naturally occurring opioid neurotransmitters in the brain from attaching to a cell or nerve receptors in the body. … Naltrexone is also used in treatment for alcohol dependence.

So it does limit dopamine in A similar way In a sense our antipsychotics block dopamine excretion

Just it says also it blocks pleasure you get from drinking alcohol

This drug has really helped my life

So it’s hard to get high on this drug. Probably part of the point for me

It’s starting to make more sense why this helps me so much. Apparently it doesn’t do the same for everyone but I don’t know where I’d be without it
