Is it unusual

that when i smoke cigarettes i get sedated. feels like there are weights on all of my body pulling me down and i have to lay down. i am stopping. no more. might have an occasional cigar as they dont affect me as badly and are not just a way to get nicotine in system. but as soon as i take a few hits of a cigarette i feel like ive been hit by a tank and it ends up being unpleasant

Weird things happen. Some people with stimulants like coffee actually make them sleep. It’s different from most folk but it’s known to happen.

Alls I can say is talk to your doc. Most good docs these days get a handle on things. Some are worse than others but it may give you some insight.

i just drank an energy drink at 11pm 160mg caffeine, i can sleep perfectly after one. maybe stimulants just affect me differently

Yeah it’s known to happen and it’s not that unusual. I’ve heard it reported with coffee and thus hit up your doctor…Most doctors hear things from patients and a good one gets a handle on the weird and wonderful. Most psych doctors are under the pump but it’s worth investigating…You may be someone who doesn’t feel the affects of things like most…

All’s I know is that stimulants for some people actually do the opposite and stimulate the part of your brain that is responsible for sleep. It’s weird for sure but it’s worth investigating. I find that having one or two coffee’s in the morning isn’t so bad but I won’t have caffeine after 12 noon or I’m having trouble sleeping…it’s worth investigating.
