Is it true that schizophrenics lose facial expression over time?

Is this an urban myth or fact?

I think they just get anhedonia sometimes.

I’ve had people at work say I only have one face before so i say fact.

hehehe…only one face, that’s ok, two are not in my book, if ya know what I mean Janus.

I don’t think you can generalize that to everyone. No doubt there are those who have experienced this. It is called blunted affect. I’m not sure if it typically gets worse over time though.

Poverty of expression is common with parkinsonian symptoms. I got it bad whilst on haldol. So not sure if it is a consequence of the disease or the meds.
