Is blaming things on negative symptoms counter productive

I am convinced the severe fatigue I get is because of the meds

But my observation was shot down and I was told it’s the negative symptoms

So if that’s the case it seems a treatment can’t be made and I just have to get on with it?

Feels like I am awakening from temporary death every single day

How nany hours sleep do you get every night?

Normally sleep from about 8pm to 7am

Not been going swimming as much recently

If I had it would be waking up at 6am

Just feels like the threshold of coffee and cigarettes is much higher to become a human again

It’s similar to what Olanzapine made me feel like years ago

Spending some of the evenings and most of the weekends in bed as well

Was managing to maintain a few hobbies but regressed again

I blame the meds but I was told it was negatives and that was basically all I was told

It’s both imo, obviously the meds cause enough metabolic issues to result in fatigue. But ofc, the negatives are what put the hammer in the nails because if the negatives wasn’t an issue we’d power through the fatigue

Both caffeine and tobacco affect clozapine levels.

So if you’re doing more of those, your AP levels may be going down.

I have switched gastro meds as the ones they gave me drove down the clozapine

The GP did not tell the mental health team

They did not realise until my family checked online and asked the question

Have another serum test in a few weeks to see if that was the main issue

I have been managing it well the last year or so

Just feels like it has got worse

Ah. Maybe that’s the cause of it all?

So that might help the levels build up again too

probably a combination of both facts… i mean its not a maybe. sz does cause general sluggishness just from the strain of having the condition. Also meds block dopamine which is important in muscle function. it makes it physically harder to initiate movement. So its unquestionably both.

can work at this problem therefore by:
a) improving mental health however you can
b) reducing meds

:peace_symbol: hope all is well dude

I’m on olanzapine 20mg and my negs have improved. I’m up and doing things again, I do house chores, I watch tv, listen to music etc. I still have some negs but it’s not as tough as it was when I first became sick.

I just need to start exercising again and I’m all set.

Meds can make negs worse, but my negs are always there.

I treat them like snow.
