Is Avolition a Symptom or a Condition?

From time to time, getting things done may be challenging. With avolition, this difficulty may become persistent and distressing.

Weird that they recommend ECT for avolition. ECT is not for sz my psychiatrist told me when I asked about it.

Avolition is actually due to low dopamine in certain regions in the brain. Stimulant medications are better for this.

Yea but they worsen positive symptoms.
