Freud was a cocaine addict, misogynist and pervert.

That doesn’t make him an idiot. His personal vices have nothing to do with his contribution to psychology that lasts to this day.

True, you have a point but he still was a crackpot

Sometimes a cocaine addict, misogynist and pervert is just a cocaine addict, misogynist and pervert.

I won’t dispute that. Just want to put it out there what was more relateable to the thread than bashing people we don’t even know.

No doubting his place in the history of psychiatry. He was a giant. But some of his theories have been disapproved by modern psychiatry.

I totally agree.

A lot of Darwin’s ideas have been proven false but his idea for evolution is accepted by scientists both as fact and as theory.

These guys didn’t get it all right, but they got enough right to be remembered and make important plays in their respective fields.

Agreed. But many people still believe in the bibles version of creation.

I hear a lot of arguments against evolution and the big bang as being “well that just sounds ridiculous!” which to me I have to ask the question does it sound better things slowly happened on their own, or that some guy just instantly made it happen because reasons you won’t ever know until you’re dead, maybe. I’d rather find out for myself.

Jung founded analytical psychology. This field of psychology focuses on the relationship between the conscious and the unconscious. It’s very complicated. I have a basic understanding of it because I had to take many psychology classes to be a U.S. Navy Intelligence Specialist. I have taken additional psychology classes at a university.

It cannot be explained in a few sentences just like quantum physics cannot be explained in a few sentences.
