Is a anti psychotic a bandage to numb the pain we feel

Yes, and a damned good one.

i agree it kept my psychosis away, for 6 years

Unfortunately, they can only treat the symptoms of sz, not cure it. If they ever did get to a level where they could manipulate the brain like that it sure would raise a lot of philosophical and ethical questions.

i would say 9 in 10 people would say anti psychotic meds don’t reduce sytptoms because of igrogance

They DO numb the pain. I’m beginning to see the AP’s as something like street drugs.

Yes. The pharmaceutical companies are No. 2 on the stock market, after the oil companies.

Olanzapine felt more like a force field / shield around my mind than like a pain pill. It kept all the ■■■■ out of my mind that had been constantly invading and tormenting me. Unfortunately it also made my cognition decline noticeably, and that was unbearable while trying to hold down a job.

Antipsychotics were primarily designed to take care of the Positive Symptoms, but do very little for the Negative Symptoms.
