Would you think 10mg is enough for the med to be effective? I’ve read somewhere that 15mg should be the lowest we should take? Do any of you guys take only 10mg and the drug work?
10mg was not enough for me, needed 15mg.

I wonder if it even works at 10, that’s the reason why I was asking
It’s probably lowest side of dosages for it. I think I was on 10 mg but I don’t really seem to need much ap and more antidepressant. It’s always about symptoms versus side effects anyways. You get symptoms you need more…or you tolerate your symptoms and you maintain.

I was on 10 mgs for a year or so. It was effective in stopping hallucinations; Im not sure I would have hallucinations off it or if those were caused by SSRI’s and I am allergic to antidepressants. I told my new psychiatrist I only ever heard voices on SSRI’s and when I was taken off them they went away. She prescribed me buspar, I had an allergic reaction, and then she asked me if I was “still hearing voices” Im like I dont ever hear voices wtf. It helps with depression, I think, although I have had happier times without abilify. I really want to stop taking it—I just increased it from 10-15-20 in a few months span. I haven’t had any issues. I feel practically the same, just a slighter dopey feeling and spaciness.

10mg wasn’t enough for me. My quality of life was pretty poor, but it was keeping me sane.
I’ve been on 15mg for years now.
20mg made me feel like a zombie.

At one point 10mg was enough for me. Yes but it depends on your chemistry and what works for one might not work for someone else.

I did the best on 30mgs and am doing well on 20mgs. all the times on 10mgs i struggled more. 10mgs is not enough. For 2 years my psychiatrist refused to increase it worsening my symptoms and paranoia.

It wasn’t enough for me.
I was taking 90mg
I am taking 30 mgs.
Interestingly, for schizophrenia, as opposed to Bipolar, the maximum recommended dose is 20 mgs. It is supposed to be inefficacious above that dose.
However, it certainly helps me a lot at a higher dose.
Just goes onto show that I don’t have schizophrenia.
10mg helped me tremendously, but my pdoc decided to take it up a notch with 15mg— which was even better.
We went up to 20mg before I abruptly went off meds for half a year… long story.
Anyways, I’m back on 20mg which is working like the 15mg used to.
20mg is a good dose for me.

I think I’ll stay on the dose I’m on, seems like 10 works but I was wondering if it was somewhat a placebo

I think 10 mg abilify works for some ppl. Many ppl are on a higher dose. Maybe that’s because I’ve heard ppl say on this forum that it is one of the weaker antipsychotics.

Im on 15mg, as far as schizophrenia goes, its working fine for me
