It sucks and I always hate it. I say I dont work due to health reasons. People then ask whats wrong with me and I say mental health stuff. I never specify SZA because people dont understand it. Make it vauge as possible.

@Naarai @StarCrazy @Wave - You made me think. IN the past i said i was out of job because of depression, but that was a lie. But i can say it due to a psychiatric disorder without lying.

But if you really want to justify you are not working why not tell them the awful frightening SCHIZO word.

Its like a hammer, if you are schizo, people can understand why you don’t have career, family, children etc.

Social security is a human right, including us with disabilities unable to work.
Anyone who has a problem with that can go screw themselves.

2 Days late reply. I have told people i have had schizoprenia in the past. But the backlash and the total piss take i got afterwards was not worth it.

Some people have been understanding but its only because they have had an MI in them selves like bipolar.

Its a personal choice at the end of that day. Its also a good way to find out who your real mates are. Cos i tell you now - you will get judged at some point, wherever in the world you live.

if it was me, I’d just try and be nice about it and if they act like a jerk then that’s their problem so I’d talk to someone else, if its a large gathering i guess there will be some people who will be ok, you’ll be surprised the number of people who know someone who has a Mental Illness and will empathise with you.
