I just landed a good interview for tomorrow morning from a military head hunter firm. It is an operations manager role for a manufacturing company. They said I should get some feedback on Wednesday morning.
Starting salary is $75,000 to $90,000 per year. The plant is about an hours drive from my house so eventually I would plan to relocate.
Hoping I don’t blow it. I have blown a few other interviews in the recent past. Tomorrow is also my wife’s birthday so I am hoping for good luck.
I am contracted to go to California on Sunday for 34 days at my part time job and won’t be back in town until May 18th. I hope they are okay with that.
I think I bombed that. They didn’t ask me about my current job or my availability or anything else. They just said they will notify people selected for a second interview. We will see.
I was supposed to get feedback from the recruiter this morning on the interview but he never called. Guess I blew it.
Have a phone interview in about two hours for another good job and it’s more in line with my area of expertise. So hoping for good luck. I have to call them at 3 pm CST.
The call went well. They like my background and experience but they don’t really want to wait for me to get back from California. I told them I could start May 21st. They said they would see if they could go that long without someone. He said he would stay in contact with me.
It’s a 6 month position to backfill for someone who took a leave of absence so it’s not permanent. So I would lose my SSDI and then would have to find another job. I am going to have to think about it.
