Integrated Cognitive-Behavioral Social Skills Training and Compensatory Cognitive Training for Negative Symptoms of Psychosis: Effects in a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

According to Stanford neuroscientist Andrew Huberman caffeine encourages the proliferation of dopamine receptors, so about a month ago I started taking a very strong cup of black coffee an hour before some pleasurable experiences such as nice meals and sexual activities etc. Blood plasma caffeine levels peak an hour after ingestion according to Huberman.

It really does seem to work but you have to really focus on the sense of pleasure during the activity for the effect to occur. After about a week of daily practice I really am enjoying things more, and the effect increases as the days go by.

A diminished sense of pleasure is strongly linked to negative symptoms in Sz patients, or at least that’s one of the main theories currently out there.
