Increased appetite with Abilify?

Does anyone else have increased appetite on Abilify? I’m having a hard time telling if my eating disorder is making a hard come back or if it’s the meds. My Pdoc says Abilify is the least appetite increasing med that he can prescribe.

I’ve gained 10lbs in a month. Shoot me.

I heard Abilify is not supposed to make you hungry.

I was 135lb before sz. Gained 60lb after being put on 20mg Abilify for 8yrs. Then gained another 100lb after switching to 6mg risperidone so gained 160lb total since being on meds.

Yes but I think it’s down to not being able to regularly excercise intensely as I used to. This regulated my appetite

Thats what i heard too but it seems that info could be false. When I look online it can cause metabolism issues leading to weight gain.

Eating disorder is probably back paired with the inability to metabolize the food properly. I’m in for trouble.

I’ll have to pick up my exercise routine. I’m already fat. I really can’t afford to be any fatter between buying food and impending medical issues.

I think all meds cause weight gain including Abilify but Abilify is one of the meds that cause the least weight gain. I read here that Geodon even causes less weight gain.

As someone in recovery from an eating disorder, I can fully identify. Abilify made me gain the least weight of any ap I’ve tried thus far

I can lose weight on Geodon. It’s definitely weight neutral (for me).

You have to take geodon on a full stomach or it won’t work.

I don’t take it on a full stomach. My pdoc told me to just take it with a little food. And it works for me.

I was on it and it didn’t work at all and I thought it was because I hadn’t eaten food with it since the doctor didn’t tell me. That was a painful experience.

Good to know. I have a feeling I’ll need to get my eating disorder in check. The amount of weight I’ve gained seems uncalled for.

Prolixen made me hungrier than any drug I’ve ever taken, even zyprexa. Inhumane.
