My pdoc was telling me that toddlers tend to be negative and that he thought I was and that I could just stop it. First of all, I was working hard then and didn’t consider myself that negative. Further more, I think a lot of us have the negative in our blood. That can change some but not the dramatic changes some people expect. For instance, I was visually negative and that is much less than it used to be due to my having a relatively helpful life.I still don’t smile much and know I’m a cold person, but I’m not done in this world until I’m dead.
I believe the internal mood state is a factor of how healthy a person’s blood brain barrier is. If the BBB is healthy and the brain is uninflamed, the person is just naturally happier since the person’s brain is not being subjected to physical stress.
If the BBB is weakened or compromised, oxidative stress reaches the brain and manifests as some kind of mental illness. It could be as little as some anxiety, or as bad as full-blown schizophrenia.
I’ll say that attitude is important too. People can be prone to going down negative thought spirals that stress their body out. Me included. I enter critical spirals that make my head literally hurt.
I’m going to try self hypnosis to break out of that pattern. Gonna buy and try this: http://www.selfhypnosis.com/downloads/emotional-calm/
