In Scotland we make porridge with water and salt. For the North American’s: how do you make your oatmeal?

I cook my oats with water, salt and soya milk and a little sugar. Sometimes cinnamon too.
When it’s done i add more milk and a little sugar or jam.

I don’t like oatmeal made with milk. I like it made with water with a few raisins and cinnamon.

I like grits made with butter and salt.

Oatmeal without salt isn’t any good.

I use oats, salt, sugar, water and milk. The milk is the least important part. Salt is the most important part besides oats.

I also like to sometimes put butter, sugar and cinnamon on afterwards, but it really isn’t necessary.

@77nick77 spoiled it. But he is from Calif. If i have everything i make with just water and put butter, milk, raisins, and brown sugar- the best part.

I use Quaker oatmeal and make it with water and salt and I’ll add some milk to it.
No sugar but I will sprinkle some cinnamon to it sometimes.
