Yea I find it more difficult too. Was much easier 10 years ago.
My partner is in the same boat here in the US. It’s ridiculous.

OK so job agencies don’t accept me cos I don’t have 2 references for jobs at hand
Can you do some volunteer work to get good references?

Yes I’m Currently in a voluntary job. But it requires that the reference has known u for some time and with other jobs, it requires job references only.
However, my welfare centre told me they will provide me with some extras support tday

Yes it’s a struggle. Tbf if I had more confidence, I would probably hav been accepted by a job now thou… Something to work on.

So many entry level jobs expect you to have lots of very specific experience
I applied to one health company who said no because I had no health experience
But all the data science skills are transferable
