I'm really insecure about my hair and am thinking about buying nutrafol. Am I an idiot?

They’re a supplement for hair loss, that are like $90/mo.

Seems like that’s excessive,

But I’m really afraid of losing my hair and menopause is right around the corner.

However, it’s got an 80% success rate.

I feel silly even asking my husband if this is okay.

(We have to discuss monthly recurring expenses)

Why not just human hair extensions or far in the future wigs.

Wigs were no big deal in the 60s. Not sure why the stigma behind wigs today.

I heard that if you start using hair products like that, you start to need them or your hair falls out.

Totally up to you whether or not you feel it is worth it, but I haven’t noticed your hair being thin in pics.

Yeah from what i’ve seen you look fine

Your hair looks really thick.

It’s probably just a worry n not a reality.

I wanted to get hair extensions and tried it out but it’s too expensive.
I have really fine thin hair.

I may bald as I get older.

I decided to not spend so much money on beauty when there are things much more important to spend money on.

I don’t want to let myself go entirely though.
Some maintenance.

If I go bald i don’t know what i will do.
Maybe snag it and wear wig sometime.

My grandma cried once and it was because she had a bald spot.
She always wanted to look nice and it devastated her.
She is dead now.

My other grandma seems to have plenty of hair and she is natural blondish and never really went grey.
She’s real gorgeous.

I have no idea about the hair products, I would just like to say that you are anything but an idiot @Charles_Foster. Respect.

I would let nature take its course.

My hair has been thinning, and I have a slight bald patch at the back of my head

Guess it’s different for men.

My mother spends a lot of time colouring her hair, and she got angry with me when I told her to let it go grey

Thank you, @shutterbug,

I appreciate that.

Balding green hair is still sexy, especially when paired with a purple suit.

You look great in your pics. But if you’re that worried, talk to your husband about the product

Honey, I looked this product up. I see a lot of really useful vitamins and minerals in this product. If you were to go and buy a high quality vitamin and a high quality mineral you would be looking at close to that amount anyway. What you are going to notice is you are going to feel a little better from taking this and you’ll have better wound healing, and as a bonus you’ll have some new hair growth. Talk to your husband, but let him know it’s not just for your hair, it’s good vitamins for your body and mind too.

@Leaf,

Thanks, I think I will talk to my husband about it.

I lost hair on Abilify,

It never came back.

Now I’m afraid of losing more during peri menopause and menopause.

I don’t mind having grey hair, I just don’t want thin hair as I plan on keeping it long.

Oh god, it’s awful. It comes out by the handful. It’s all over the house. It’s in the drain in the tub. It gets in your cooking somehow, your brush even steals some. You think how long can this continue before I’m bald? You end up with half your original amount.

FUUUCK!

I’m defintiely getting the pills.

I can’t handle that.

Is it as bad as after you have a baby?

My hair came out en mass after I had my baby.

I didn’t lose hair after my babies, so I don’t know. But it’s bad enough that you seriously worry that you are going to end up bald.

I lost about half my hair immediately after having my baby.

It was horrific.

I don’t want to do that again.

But it grew back.
