When someone stole from my work, my boss asked me what they looked like and what they were wearing. I had no idea. My girlfriend is constantly noticing things around us (a dog, a squirrel, a suspicious person or car, etc. ) and I’m always saying I didnt see it. I’m just in my head most of the time lol. Anyone else like this? I find it exhausting to be observant
Yeah. I can relate.
I’m in my head a lot till meds. It’s probably the other way around for me.
I started being anal and focussed on everything. I obsessed about details and could rattle off all of that. On meds I’m not so focussed. I’m more calm and composed and probably don’t recognize those details.
Your right about being in your headspace. It’s the common concern from schizophrenics. I’m not so obsessed anymore…but I lose some of that detail!
Me too, I’m not too observant on meds. I noticed every little thing off meds. I was coocoo so (raspberries)
On med a lot gets by me, kinda like day dreaming all the time
I am not very observant either on meds or off meds. I’m often in my head when going out or staying inside the house.
I’m not very observant either, on or off meds.
I lose focus on things and start paying attention to what’s happening in my head a lot. This happens less on Zyprexa.
I’m about to start zyprexa so I hope that helps me too. Seroquel has helped me a lot but some things not so much.
I hope you do well on it, for me it works a lot better with Seroquel. Seroquel gave me hypnagogic I think they’re called, hallucinations while you’re half asleep. It also made me eat like a horse late at night. I don’t have either of those problems on Zyprexa.
Do you take it with seroquel? I am staying on seroquel, just bumped down to 400 mg and 5 mg of zyprexa. Yeah I get those too, but I did before seroquel as well. Actually I had sleep paralysis a lot before being upped to 500 mg on it. It just makes me so tired all day.
No, I have never been on two antipsychotics at once. I kind of miss some of the half-sleep hallucinations because they were intricate and beautiful, but they still count as a symptom and I’m looking to treat those.
Hopefully you don’t get too tired from it, Seroquel made me feel pretty spacey. Different meds work for different people though of course.
Is it really a symptom…? Dang, seems like I’m learning more and more that what I have been experiencing for years is sza. It’s actually kind of nice pinning them there instead of not knowing I suppose.
I pick up zyprexa on Monday so well see!
It might not have been a symptom, but rather just a side effect of Seroquel. Good luck on the zyprexa, I always wanted to try a combo, I just have akathisia issues so I stay on small doses.
Ugh I had that with risperdal . Do you take medicine for it?
I was on benztropine (cogentin) and it helped, but my psychiatrist pulled me off it later saying it’s not effective. She has me on propranalol for the akathisia instead, which is good because I saw my physical doctor and she wanted me on it for blood pressure. Now I guess I can take it for both… but it doesn’t seem to help the akathisia as much as cogentin did. I don’t want to call the psychiatrist wrong but I thought cogentin was helping.
Hm that is weird. That’s what I took as well. I’ve questioned my psychiatrist before, she was pretty open to listening. Maybe it’s worth a shot
I am not observant but my mum said when I was a child I was incredibly observant and would see things and notice things normal people didn’t .
