I'm new and I'm looking to see if people relate to what I'm going through

Hi!
So I don’t know how to explain it so I’m just gonna talk.
So for about a year or so I started showing signs of schizophrenia and it’s caught up to me now and ■■■■■■ me over.
I have these ‘people’ I call them ‘they’ because there’s more than one, one of them can’t be so strong ya know? But they live inside my head and control how I move. Usually they make me not move and they cut me off from talking. They won’t let me do anything but cry cause I’ll get so scared. It lasts for a good 10 minutes.
Alongside those I have about 5-7 shadow people that hang around me. They’re all bad except for one but I haven’t seen her in a while. There’s 2 who live in my car and try to kill me when I drive.
And lately I’ve started to hear voices, like 5 at a time and they make me turn on all the lights upstairs and that seems to shut them up.
I also have this idea that I’m not real. Non of this is real and I’m hospitalized because I’ve seen a doctor and a nurse either by my side when I’m asleep or in the tub to keep an eye on me.
Anyone gone through any of these? I just wanna talk to somone. I’m currently going to become a freshman in college come fall and they have free psych help but I’ve never gone to get help and I’m too petrified to ask my mom.

Yeah there are several people on here who struggle with some of those things. Feelings of being controlled, that nothing is real, etc…pretty common to see around here. I have had experience with shadow people though they always dart out of my vision before I can really see them. They’re very fast.

@TiredMess I’d like to encourage you to see a dr, get a dx, and start meds

yup, that sounds like me. I have schizoaffective disorder. I get all kinds of wrapped up in delusions. I would make an appointment to see a dr right away if I was you.

Definetely see a doctor as soon as possible.

Do you have insurance and a regular doctor? If you’re afraid to discuss it with your mom, you can tell her that you want to learn “adulting” and make your own doctor appointments. A regular doctor can make a referral to a psych doc.

This is pretty serious, I don’t think you should wait til the fall. There are early intervention programs which can improve your prognosis.

I’ve had experience with shadow people too. Also shadow people in my car. I’ve also heard voices. I suggest you see a psychiatrist right away, maybe in your college, and get on medications.

Thanks guys for the comments.
I really want to see a psych and all that but I have a fear of doctors and stuff in general. I can’t be afraid cause I know they’re there to help me.
Does anyone have tips on how to talk to my doctor about it? And I don’t have like a regular doctor, only my kid doctor(name slipped on what they’re called) so it’s not the constant same doctor.
If y’all have any tips or expirences that’d greatly be appreciated cause as I’ve stated before I’m scared Af @tera @twinklestars

Pediatrician. Pediatricians can still make referrals to a psych doc. Since onset of sz is often in late adolescence, they will have been trained enough in the symptoms to know that you need to be evaluated by a psych doc and they can help make that referral and talk to your parents if you want them to.

You can always show them this post.

If your college has a free psychologist, you don’t have to go through a separate doctor. You just make an appointment on your own.

I sleep with the lights on sometimes to keep the shadows from moving. Get some strong sleeping pills take them at dusk so you will sleep right past the time they are around. Get some good meds, they will block most of that other stuff out. Need soon as possible help? Check yourself into a mental hospital for awhile till they can adjust your medication correctly. Don’t fight them or they can legally keep you there for months!

I ask them shadow folks to fetch me a nice cup of coffee- 2 tsp creamer, and darn it if they don’t come back for a few days.
The help one gets these days leaves something to be desired.

I sleep with lights on too but I still have some dark spots in my room where they like to hang out.
Are sleeping pills over the counter things?

I wouldn’t recommend sleeping pills unless you go for a natural brand like kalms! No point making a problem where there isn’t one.

And for your symptoms, definitely get to the doctors, get a referral and get the help you need xx

I take 150mg of trazodone for sleeping but I think you need a prescription
to get it. Lots of no rx sleeping pills that aren’t as strong for some
people. Melatonin is one I’ve tried, didn’t do anything.
