I'm like Homer trying to get a donut set up to shock him

This is me lately.

Isn’t there some saying about the definition of insanity being doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? I’m not sure but I don’t feel like looking up at the moment.

I tried sleeping without a sleep aid once again this morning. Again, woke up 2.5 hours later with bad dreams. I hoped for the best, but got the same result.

It seems I have 3 choices. 2 of which I don’t like.

  1. Don’t take anything to help sleep, sleep 2 to 3 hours at a time to try to get my sleep in.

  2. Take Trazadone, possibly sleep 10 to 12 hours like last time and be groggy and out of it half of the day once up.

  3. Talk to pdoc in upcoming appointment and hope they have a better solution

I don’t like options 1 and 2 but they may need to suffice until I can implement # 3.

Anyway, rant over
I will find a solution.


I suppose I could try a lower dose of trazadone as well. So maybe there are 4 options.

Hey, 2.5 hours is better than 0 hours. I only slept for 3.5 hours this morning. So I can relate to you.

Sounds like maybe you need to find a new alternative as well. You are often up late sleepless as well.

Some things that might help both of us:

  1. Exercise in the morning and dont nap during the day.
  2. No electronics an hour before bed.
  3. Take an over the counter supplement, like melatonin.
  4. Med adjustment to hopefully get rid of bad dreams.
