I'm in a sticky situation

In between doctors appointments and needing medication adjustments  I need to get started on a sleep med for my neurologist but my next appt is the end of Feb. they said they are trying to get me in beforehand looking for cancellations but it’s difficult with specialists. And my psychiatrist only gave me a 2 weeks supply of klonopin which with how things have been going lately that will not last me so long. My therapist says that with my issues I should be seeing both of them monthly but it starts to get really expensive between her, two specialists (one of whom doesn’t take insurance) and medication. Guhhh.

Where u from? Have u tried supplements in the mean time? Maybe grab some cimetidine from the convenience store and take half the normal amount of klonopin… should last u twice as long then

Never heard of it o.O but yeah I have to be careful with the klonopin  .5mg wasn’t strong enough for the amount of anxiety I had (I know it wasn’t due to tolerance because I hadn’t taken any in ages, like months) so I have been taking 1 mg and thus burning through my supply twice as fast…once I even did 1.5 just because my fear was still coming through. These are all still fairly low doses but the point is I have limited supply. I don’t have that much because USUALLY I don’t really need it save for the odd occasion.

Makes me so groggy the next morning.

Try 50 mg of Benedryl or a generic equivalent when you want to rest. It’s not super strong, but it’s not addictive either and has no side effects that I’m aware of.

I’m sorry, benedryl won’t help if it’s your anxiety that wont allow you to fall asleep. I just thought you wanted something that would just make you drowsy.

It depends on the night, sometimes its fear sometimes it’s just general restlessness can’t fall asleep for no reason sometimes it’s other stuff

Your body may be adjusting to the Klonopin. Like getting used to it. Be very careful with that. I used to take 3mg of lorazepam a day and it did nothing for me all it was was a physical dependence at that point.

I am now off it. I think other medication can be as effective for anxiety rather than these benzos. Also doing things.

It’s a low dose now. But it can turn into a high dose. And though it is a great reliever it can be a nightmare reducing it. Please be careful with the Klonopin.
